Its ONCAMPUS pathways division has partnerships with 27 universities across the UK, Europe and the US.
The announcement is Cambridge Education Group’s second in the past four months, following the news of a new program it will run with Aston University in Birmingham from September 2021.
“Our latest partnership with the University of Southampton represents a significant opportunity for international students to access a globally renowned university,” said co-CEO of Cambridge Education Group Brendan Webb.
“Students joining the pathway programs will study a rigorous academic curriculum”
“For international students, the benefits of attending a Russell Group university are that they will have access to some of the world’s leading academics, innovative research projects and links to business.”
The University of Southampton International Pathway Centre will welcome its first cohort of students in September.
The partnership will enhance the university’s “global reach in education and attract outstanding students from across the world”, vice-president (education) at the University of Southampton Alex Neill continued.
“Students joining the pathway programs will study a rigorous academic curriculum, while improving their English language proficiency and settling into the fantastic student life that the University and city of Southampton offer,” he noted.
“We look forward to welcoming them to our community.”
While Southampton is the first Russell Group member with which CEG has launched an International Pathway Centre, the ONCampus London location does offer a pathway to Queen Mary, University of London, another of the Russell Group’s 24 members.
Other providers offering pathways to Russell Group members include Kaplan at the Universities of Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool, Nottingham and York, while StudyGroup offers programs at Cardiff, Durham and Sheffield.
The University of Southampton International Pathway Centre will provide an “outstanding start” for international students who have ambitions to progress onto a wide range of programs at the university, the new partners added.
