Dr. Sue VandeWoude, a Colorado Point out University distinguished professor and planet-renowned veterinary virologist, has been named the upcoming dean of the College of Veterinary Drugs and Biomedical Sciences.
She will step down from her current placement as the director of the CSU A single Wellbeing Institute and start her new appointment major US News and World Report’s No. 3 rated veterinary faculty in the nation on Aug. 16.
Sue VandeWoude has been a researcher at CSU for two decades.

VandeWoude will be the 11th dean and initially female to hold the posture given that CSU introduced its Health care provider of Veterinary Drugs application in 1907.

VandeWoude grew up on a farm in Virginia, where by she participated in 4-H, boosting chickens, pigs, ducks and beef cattle – and paying out several content hrs with the barn cats.
Right after earning her undergraduate degree at the California Institute of Technological innovation, she went on to the Virginia-Maryland Regional University of Veterinary Drugs for her DVM, and completed her postdoctoral education in comparative medication at Johns Hopkins College, and is board-accredited in laboratory animal medicine. She first arrived to CSU in 1990 and has held management positions for the previous 15 decades, which includes as the CVMBS associate dean for investigation from 2011-19.
